The over hang

This overhang is where the creek cuts through the gorge, it is absolutely massive. It is a 1.6km walk from the carpark, even though we started walking just after 8 we drank the entire 3.5 litres of water by the time we got there.By the time we got back to the camp ground we were VERY thirsty and probably drank another 3.5 litres of water. wottheduk wottheduk Some cool shots of what looked to be a great camping trip. Some real nice places you visited. And thanks for putting the explainations on each pic. Posted: January 18 2009
Louise. Louise. Cania Gorge is terrific - did you jump on the big blue balloon at the campground? Feed the birds? Is that the place? Posted: January 18 2009
tuxcomputers tuxcomputers Oh god no, that was the Big4 down the road that must have had like 800 people crammed into the dust bowl. The camp ground we stayed was the one just after the cattle grid before you got to the carpark where all the walks started from. We had grass that's why the ponies came in and you could basically camp where you wanted. There were powered sites and cabins if you wanted them. If you ever go again to Cania stay at that one. On the day we went 4WDing we got back after the office closed. The owner opened it back up so that we could get an ice cream. Try asking the Big4 to do that. We left stuff like juice and fruit in the fridge of the communal kitchen. Try that at the Big4 and you would end up with pips and an empty bottle. Posted: January 18 2009
David de Groot David de Groot Never been to Cania, but it's on my list of places to go. :) Posted: January 19 2009

Louise. Louise. Yeah we stayed in the Big 4 one June/July last year but it was empty so it was fine. I can imagine it could get pretty ugly in there if it was full. I wanted to have a jump on the big balloon but Jane and Anna said I was too old and that it would be so very embarrassing for them! Posted: January 19 2009
